When to Use the 'Pending Quote' Work Order Status

A work order should be set to 'Pending Quote' if a quotation for the work is required before the work can commence

This article is for FMI Works users who have been given the permission of Works Coordinator

What the work order status means

Each work order is given a status that changes as the work order moves through the system.

The status of a work order is used to manage how and when work will be actioned, as well as updating requesters on the progress of work.

When to use the 'Pending Quote' status

Following your organisation's processes, confirm that a quote is required before the work can proceed.

When the 'Pending Quote' status is selected, the FM team now needs to request a quote from its nominated contractors.

Moving a work order to 'Pending Quote'

The 'Pending Quote' status is available for work orders that have the status of 'New Request', 'Under Consideration', 'Safety Review', or 'Scheduled'.

After selecting status 'Pending Quote', you will be prompted to enter the reason for changing the status to 'Pending Quote'.

What happens next?

If configured, a work order status change email notification will be sent to notify the relevant parties of the change in status.

The FM team needs to now request a quote from its nominated contractors.

For information on configuring email notifications, see our article How To Set Up the Work Order Status Change Email Notifications.
