How to Use the Work Order Search (Smarter Services)

Find work orders using the Search function

This article is for FMI Works users who have been given access to the Services module

These instructions apply to Smarter Services. If you are using the original Services Module, go to How to Use Work Order Quick Search

Getting started

From the Services module, select Work >Works Search. This will default to the View - All. Select Reset to clear any chosen filters if required.

Search options

The following options are available. 

  • Select View to choose from a dropdown list of default views that will filter the Work Order Search. You can also create and save your own custom views. 
  • Select Filter to filter work orders by:
    • Status
    • Source 
    • Priority
    • Created Date
    • Exp. Completion 
  • filter by keywords allows you to perform a keyword search of the Code, Title, Full Description, Source, and Process State
  • Select Columns to reorder and choose which columns are visible in the Work Order Search.
To create a new work order, select +Add.

Tip: The following searches can be used to find work orders with values where no column filter is currently available. Additional column filters will be added at a later date.

In the filter by keywords field, use the following to find:

  • Assigned Supplier - enter assignedsupplier:"supplier name" e.g., assignedsupplier:"Bob's Plumbing"
  • Assigned User - enter assigneduser:"user name" e.g., assigneduser:"Bob Smith"
  • Process State - enter processstate:"process state" e.g., processstate:"awaiting invoice"
  • Location - enter location:"location name" e.g., location:"12 Best Street"
