What is the Contracts Log?
The Contracts Log is a record of updates and changes made to a contract. The log assists with auditability, as the log cannot be altered or edited once the change has occurred.
Where to start
From the Services module, go to Financials > Contracts and select the relevant contract. From the Contract Details page, go to the Log tab.
What information is recorded on the Contracts Log?
The log entries contain the following information.
- The date and timestamp of the change.
- The message detailing what change was made.
- The unique user ID of who made the change.
What changes trigger a log entry?
The log makes an entry when any of the following changes are made to the contract record.
- Changes in Contract Value.
- Changes in Contract Status.
- When a Schedule of Rates is generated.
- A note entered by a user.
Adding a note to the Contract Log
Additional information can be added as notes by users by selecting Add New Log Entry.
For example, if there has been an agreed change to the contract (e.g., extension of an agreement), this can be added to the Contract Log as a note.
