A guide to choosing supplier roles and permissions in FMI Works
This article is for FMI Works users who have been given the permission of System Administrator
What are supplier roles used for?
When a supplier user is created, they are given user permissions that allow them to perform actions in FMI Works.
There are two roles available for supplier users.
- Supplier User
- Supplier Manager
Supplier User
A Supplier User is an external contractor that requires access to the Contractor Portal to receive and complete work orders assigned to them.
This role is suitable for contractors that need to receive and complete work orders assigned to them by an organisation.
Supplier Users can:
- Log into the Contractor Portal.
- Upload and edit documents on work orders.
- Raise new work requests. They do not have the permissions to assign the work to their organisation.
- Complete work orders.
- Edit their user details.
- Upload accreditations.
- Complete inductions.
Supplier Manager
A Supplier Manager is an external contractor that requires access to the Contractor Portal to assign work to their employee.
This role is suitable for users who manage the assignment of work and other administrative functions, such as accreditations, within a supplier or contractor organisation.
Supplier Managers have access to Supplier User functionality. They can also:
- Edit their company details.
- Create and edit their employee information (note: only FMI Works System Administrators can change user roles and permissions).
- Submit or decline quotes.
- Upload accreditations on behalf of the Company, Company Employees or themselves.
