Setting up work orders

There are a few settings you will want in place to ensure work order management is efficient and you are getting good reporting outcomes.

Mandatory settings

  • Service Type: High-level definition of the type of work that is commonly undertaken by a trade. For example, plumbing, carpentry, electrical. This helps quickly identify and report on work.
  • Priority: Sets the response timeframes for different types of jobs.
  • Standard Request: Allows requesters to select requests from a list. This allows requests to be raised and processed quickly and efficiently.
  • Status: Used to identify what stage the work order is at in the work order lifecycle. This helps to keep track of the work order from start to completion.

Highly recommended

  • Job Activity: Adds detail to the Service Type by describing what work will be done. For example, repair, clean, inspect. This helps further refine reporting capabilities in conjunction with the Service Type.
